Finland: Karjalan Paisti

I am stuck.  This recipe, everywhere, has a combination of pork, beef and/or lamb, onions, allspice, pepper, bay leaves and water.  AND NO OTHER INGREDIENTS.

 The website, The Spruce Eats, has a picture of a meal which is clearly not the stew, since the sauce in the picture looks like it has tomato and some kind of thickener in it. I am fairly confident that the recipe provided will produce a thin, grey soup with meat lumps. And also, olive oil doesn't seem very authentic in Finnish cooking. 

 I'm going to delay in the hopes that I can eventually find a better recipe.

Dumplings
